I had to stay home today with a sick boy (nasty, nasty stomach bug. I've been running laundry all day nasty), so I was able to take some photos of the teal silk shawl.

Here's a photo of a little over half of the shawl. You can see the English Mesh lace at the bottom; and the horseshoe lace (I'm almost done with the 4th repeat of it).

Here's a shot of the whole thing (so far) - you can see all my stitch markers. *g*

Annnnnnnnnnnnd, here's a closeup:

The colors look pretty true to me, which is good. It's hard to get a good photo of silk, since it's so shiny and reflective (especially handspun, which isn't as regular as mill-spun stuff.)

Oh, and about my stitch markers: I thought everyone knew the trick of placing a marker at the start of each pattern repeat, but I was wrong. This is the *only* way I can keep track of my stitch counts in lace, especially on a shawl where I am increasing every other row. (And folks wonder why I have 60+ stitch markers in my box? Now you know - I actually don't have enough; the Dragonhair shawl used every single one of them, plus 8 paperclips before I was done!)

This is really important in this shawl, since the stitch counts change with each pattern change. I only have to count once, when I'm setting the markers, then it's smooth sailing. Or, it has been so far. *g*

Must get back to it - the boy is asleep on the couch, and the silk is singing it's siren song. Must.go.knit.now.
