Well, my weekend just got wilder...

my co-worker's husband is on dialysis. It's going great...but. Today at lunch he fell - badly. According to the ER, he busted his elbow and knee, and can't be left alone - he's on cumadin, has already bled a lot, and can't risk another fall. Until his knee heals, he needs a baby-sitter. :sigh:

She's taking tomorrow off, and has arranged for someone to sit with him next week (and take him to dialysis, since he obviously can't drive)...but she needs someone Saturday afternoon/early evening. She's got another job that needs some "emergency" accounting done (well, yeah - the forms are due the 15th; if the client doesn't do the bloody work until..the 14th, what can she do?) Guess who got drafted? *g*

Thankfully, he likes the kids; he wants to meet J., so this will work out. ritaspins37, we can still get together, but I'll need to head over there around 3:30 or so.

The good thing is, my MIL will have to leave, also. I'll get a little bit of peace, anyway! (But I'll still be insane by then, since she has now made up a list of things that J. and DFIL *have* to do. :sigh: I love my IL's, but this is getting ridiculous!

Ah, well - this too shall pass. What's that Chinese curse? May you live in interesting times? Yeah - well, I prefer boring! *g*

I don't know *what's* gotten into people here lately. I was stopped today by one of the dental techs that works down the hall from us. I was leaving the lady's room as he was heading down the stairs.

He came to a complete stop, stared a minute, then said "You look good. Really." I blinked at him - he is NOT known for complimenting people. "Um, Thanks!" I said. "You've lost a lot of weight, right?" "Yeah - 63 pounds since last year."

"Wow. Way to go - I am impressed! You really look great!"- then he headed on down the stairs.

:blink: Sure.....and I thought he swung the other way....*gg*

No, I don't receive compliments often - especially not from people that don't, as a rule, speak to other people.

I'm still chuckling over it...
