I think I need to concentrate on procuring gopher wood - NOT on the goat barn. It's...yeah. The paddocks are flooded almost to the run-in sheds, the back yard is a lake, and the front yard is a swamp.

So, to offset that - have a photo:

Sleepy Puppy Sleepy Puppy

In fact, have 2:

Introducing Snips, a/k/a Ahsoka. (But only when we're mad. Which isn't often. Yet.) She's a sweet thing, high energy, playful, but sweet. We think she'll make a good goat-herder. Maybe.

Who could bring themselves to dump such a cute l'il face? I mean, really......:shakes head:

Yeah- my first thought was Australian Cattle Dog....now I'm leaning towards Blue Heeler (or maybe Heeler/Aussie cross).

She's got the heeling down - she likes to nip at Zoey's heels. Hasn't connected - yet - and she's intimidated by the Big Dog. :snicker:

She's a cutie, though!

Australian cattle dogs and blue heelers are the same, there are also red heelers, so I guess that name just describes their color. Stella is part cattle dog, and she was a big fan of heel biting when she was a puppy, but she doesn't do it anymore. Your pup has a short tail like an Australian shepherd but the coloring and short fur of a cattle dog... hmmm.... it's a mutt mystery!
