We went to see "Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows" today. It was.....*good*. REALLY good. They kept the homosexual innuendos "light", but - honestly, it's in the book. And they handled it well. I think it's on par with the first one - maybe *slightly* better. (Seriously - in the first movie, Watson and Holmes fight like an old married couple; the scene in the carriage regarding the waistcoat is classic "couple". The book is the same way - it's subtle, but it appears that there's more there than just friendship. Nothing overt, but...it's underlying the partnership. It doesn't get in the way of the movie - I didn't notice it until the 2nd viewing; but it's there.)

Jude Law makes a *fantastic* Watson - he nails the character as Sir Arthur Conan Doyle wrote him. He's the perfect foil for Robert Downey Jr's Holmes - and the pairing works. The dialogue is snappy, the action is...well done, and the movie as a whole is fun. I like how Mary's character is developed, and how Holmes reacts to Watson's new relationship with her as his wife.

I ordered the 4 "missing" books - Sapirstein's Rashi edition. After a long talk with SG, I decided to finish out the set instead of going cheaper and getting something else, and having a "leftover" Leviticus. I can't wait to dig into them....it should "punch up" my Torah studies.

I figured out my last 2 presents. They won't be done by the end of Hanukkah, but either we won't be here (Please, Lord!) or they'll be happily received when I finish them. Either way, I'm happy.

Gotta go get the house in order for Shabbat. Shabbat Shalom, everyone! See ya on the flip side, Lord willing!
