this weekend. Everything is packed, in the front room, ready to be loaded in the van tonight. Garb is laid out, clean, ready to jump into in the AM. Kids suitcase is at the daycare, and they are ready to rock and roll. (Did I mention the bliss I will be feeling tonight? No kids? House to myself?????)

I spent last night dyeing Border Leiscester locks.....with Easter Egg Dye. Nice, bright, happy, spring-type colors. This is for the Demo next weekend at the Terrell Library (drop by, if you're in the area! It'll be fun!) I'll demo handcarding as well as spinning, Lady S is weaving on the table loom, and another friend (no LJ) will be demo-ing spinning and inkle-weaving.

Speaking of weaving, I have wound the warp for the table loom...just need to actually thread it. I'm off on Monday, so that's what I plan to do - warp the loom. Some sort of twill pattern (haven't decided, so I'm bringing the pattern book to Bedford tomorrow and will let S. decide. *g*) Also need to crank out some more socks. And spin. Must get reaquainted with my wheel(s).

I'll have an Ashford skein-winder for sale soon....if you're interested, let me know. I'm thinking $20 - $25 for it - it's in good shape, works well, but I just bought a clock reel and don't have room for both. (The reel is due in sometime next week.)

Guess I should pretend to work now....

I want your skein winder!

I've got a couple of old clock reels, but they're not adjustable for skein size - and one is too big for my swift. The silk doesn't have much give, so I would love to be able to slip the bar down to release a skein.

Let me know, and I can PayPal you some money, we can sort out how I can reach you to pick up, etc...

Cool - but this is the Ashford one - I have a picture here (http://www.fiber-addict.net/ashford_skein_winder.jpg). It doesn't have a sliding peg; you can, however, pull the pegs out and lift the skein off that way (you really *don't* want to know how I know this, OK? It involves the 5 year old, a lightsaber, and......chocolate pudding. Really. It wasn't pretty...the skeinwinder, however, survived nicely, with no stains! The columbia yarn, however....)

I can measure it tonight, if you want to know the circumference.....or if you're going to be in/near Bedford this weekend I can toss it in the car and you can look at it. (or Terrell next weekend, even - there's still a teensy bit of room in the back of the van. I think.)

If the pegs will come out without damage, that'll do. I had looked it up online, and either they've gone to a new model with a slider, or that's an option; that's why I thought it had a slider.

I will be crazy busy with my parents in town this weekend, and I'm doing State Fair for the run of the Fair... maybe the last weekend of the month?

Works for me!

Rattle my cage as we get closer - I'm extremely blonde at the moment, and can't remember my own name right now. *g*

ooo I get to choose? WHEE!! (sorry for the over-glee, had real sugar in my tea this morning...)

which reminds me, must pack the car tonight with all of the stuff I'm bringing you - skirt, fabric, shirt, yarn, etc...

Yes, you do, and Yes, you do. *g*

There's a bunch of patterns that are pretty easy, treadling-wise. I *think* I wound a 4" wide warp, but I need to re-count; I was going to do 6", but decided that was probably too wide for a nice scarf. Then I got distracted.....Obi Wan Ian was defending the house from the Evil Galactic Overlord Zoey and, well.....take my word for it. It was easy to get distracted. *g*

Ooooo sweetness!!

6 inches would have been OK, I don't mind the scrunching and bunching.

Obi Ian... sounds WAY too close to OB-GYN. ROFL

O.O OK, that was the sign I need to go home.

um, can I be on the stand-by list if oakenking decides he'd rather have a sliding model? The sliding model does look so much more convenient. You wouldn't likely have to work with it, or modify it, you could just take it out of the box, assemble, and use it in all it's slidey goodness. (is it working yet? LOL)
