Newest sock project...
Oct. 11th, 2005 01:50 pmI started the ribbing on my latest socks Sunday AM at the Festival. It's in Lorna's Laces "Daffodil" colorway, on size 2s (I can't use size 1s, they hurt my hands too much. 2s - so far - seem OK.)
I finished the ribbing...but *really* didn't want another pair of plain, ordinary, boring-ish socks. Yes, the colorway is bright, but not radioactive...and the CSM will give me plain socks. So, I flipped thru my pattern books, and googled....and am now knitting away.
The pattern: Old Shale/Feather and Fan.
It looks way cool in this colorway - it's mostly a bright, lemon yellow, with bits of bright blue, grass green, and a darker, almost kelly green. I've done 3 pattern repeats - and like it.
The next pair (if I use this pattern again) will be without ribbing, I think, to get the scalloped top edge. We'll see.....
I'm already planning my fall socks....a nice leaf-y pattern, I think. Still contemplating those. Of course, I have to spin the yarn first. *g*
I have a ways to go, so I'd better get back to it!
