So - here is the Autumn Yarn:



This is a closeup - the colors are pretty much accurate. The real yarn is a bit more...subdued, I think, but this is close enough.

The photos don't really convey the depth of color in the actual yarn - each single was spun from a 4 color batt; each batt had the same 4 colors but was blended in a different combination. I then plied the 4 different singles together - it's a very rich, very deep sort of yarn that's hard to capture with a camera. (or words, for that matter!)



I'm pleased with the sock, and have started it's mate. If I didn't feel so icky, I'd be working on it now. Instead, I think I'll go take a nap!

It's really beautiful, although I know what you mean about not seeing the depth in the yarn. Hope you feel better after your nap :-)

It's not hard to spin sock yarn - just keep it relatively fine (or spin a consistant bulky single) and ply it tightly. This was a 4 ply - I normally do 2 ply, but wanted to test this out for strength.
