The birdies are singing, the sun is shining, the weather is gorgeous, it's NTIF weekend, and Hillary will be at Fair Park tomorrow. Wait - what??? WHO planned that, I wonder?

Picture this: Presidental rally held at the same venue a rowdy bunch of Guiness-lovin', Celtic-rock groupies are hanging out.....this is NOT gonna be pretty, methinks.

Will be working on the cardigan today - Ms boss won't be in until afternoon, and I'm leaving early for a parent/teacher conference. Fun! (It's the normal end-of-year, yeah we've been in contact one. No big deal)

Mom is on a mission today - she has strict orders to talk to the feed store owner about chicken raisers. We'll be starting on the coop in the next 2 or 3 weeks, so I need to start hunting older hens (by older, I mean 5 or 6 months...not quite ready to start laying, but no longer chicks). Whee!

Gotta get my small things package ready to go - the item's been done for MONTHS, but....I'm not so good at shipping things out. :sigh:

WHEE!

Found a lady in the next town over who has chickens - she is gonna sell me some in 4 - 6 weeks!

I'll be getting some 10 week old Buff Orpingtons, Bazrred Rocks, Rhode Island Reds, and, if she can find some, Ameracunas or Silkies!!

Now, we just have to get the coop built! (No worries - Sweet Geek is all fired up over it. We're planning on getting the supplies tonight and starting on the building next weekend. :bounce:)

Fresh eggs should start appearing when the girls are 20 weeks old (or so - some start at 15 weeks...we'll see)
