While the "world government" scenario is actually fairly likely -- it's a natural result of the desire for power and as such is as old as humanity -- I think it's a secular thing rather than any sign of some "end times" apocalypse.

The whole end times thing is a very American interpretation of a very select part of the bible. To some extent it could be called a heresy -- if you want to get into esoteric theology -- but there again, the same applies to Mormonism amongst various other sects.

Bottom line: things are going downhill very nastily. Or nicely if you're one of those who think they'll be on top of the heap at the bottom of the hill...

We do live in interesting times.......
