it's friday!

made it thru the night with just talwin....it didn't touch the pain, but helped me sleep. that's something, anyway.

i think i just bought a new coop - waiting to hear back. guess i should hunt for new pullets now.....:grin:

mom gets to play me at himself's school today - the art teacher wants a weaving demo. hope she has fun (the rh loom is easy, and himself'll be there to help. no problem!)

have a p-t conf. on 3/12 at herself's school with the principal. fun stuff.

I'm gonna get chickens too! Americanas, Buff Orphingtons, Black Australorps, and Wyandottes. Woot!

oooh! you're gonna love 'em! the buff orps should each give you (average) 6 eegs/week, the americanas...5, maybe,the australorp 5 or 6,and i don't know about the wyandottes (they're on the list for this time!)

Hope you're feeling better today.

I'm really looking forward to my chickens. I can order them next month at the Maple Lake (MN) farmers coop, and they'll be in in April, one day old, instead of two days old through the mail. My friend up here says not to get Leghorns, hers are quite lazy. I'm also getting Rock Cornish hens, some to butcher at 3 weeks old for game hens, the others I'll let get bigger to lay eggs if they want, and butcher in the fall. I've been following your comments on the economy and food supply, and I'm tending to agree with them.

I've got a big garden planned this year, and plan to plant lots of peas and dry them, to make split peas. I can sell them at Farmers Market if they turn out; my friend has volunteered to test the dried peas for me to see if my theory works.
