and it's not raining! It's hot, though - but that's normal for TX in June. (Just...not usually this hot!)

The chickens were all OK last night...I didn't check Himself's fishy. (Don't wanna know.....) We're going to try to give the chickens more shade this weekend...we'll see how *that* works out.

We need to get new tires on the trailer and get the lawn tractor tire plugged. We have to do *that* before 12, since in our "town", that's when things shut down. Hopefully we can still get stuff done around the hen house before it gets to blasted hot....

We also need to work on the goat barn..but Sunday is Father's day, so - honestly, nothing will get done then. Big Daddy wants to see a movie, do a bit of shopping..it's his day, so...yeah.

Work is..work. Co-worker's been out at Ms. boss's house (she can't deal with the fence man herself - it's "too stressful". Grow a set, man! :rolls eyes:) Every.Single.Day. I'm plugging along...but it's awful quiet up here during the day. :sigh:

hi there! I got great news today. The gal who's stall is next to mine at my new Farmers Market has -- wait for it -- FRESH GOATS MILK. I'm getting two gallons next week, so I can make cheese and so forth.

yeee-hah!

I just ordered Cheesemaker's Pantry ( and a few other things). My husband agrees with you that the world is going to self implode some time and we need to make as much of our own food as possible. Myself, I don't want to purchase anything made "overseas" because of the prior problems that have been suffered through. My own is so much better.

Cool! You'll LOVE the Cheesemaker's Pantry - it has everything you need to get started. (Well, except for the pot and a long pastry knife - which you only need for certain hard cheese to cut the curd)

Yeah - we're headed down a path we REALLY don't want to go down...but there's no choice. And it IS going to get worse. That's why we have chickens, a small garden, and are getting goats. :sigh: I also have a non-electric cooktop (just in case), and am trying to figure out massive water-storage. Again.....worst case situation. If it doesn't come to that, well, I'm not out much.
