the Pianoman came, brought us a "new" piano, but declined to take the old one. Since it will cost $$$$ to fix, and since we can't, in good conscience, donate it in this condition, we want to give it to someone who will appreciate it: Someone with a trebuchet. :evil grin:

Free - seriously! - but I want a video of the fling. You can fling it in our back acreage, even - but you'll have to pick up the pieces. (Probably better to fling it at/near a dump - but that's your call!)

Let me know...it's on the front porch now, and that's a little too...white trash for me. :sigh: It needs a new life.

Also, if someone just wants a parlour piano with no plans to play it - come get it. It'd be more fun to see it go "splat!", but.....I'm not adverse to helping out someone's decorating scheme, too.

Don't get me wrong, it'd be fun as heck to watch a piano flying across the fields, but aren't most piano's made of decent wood? Perhaps you might consider finding a local wood worker who would be willing to work out a trade for the wood, and then fling the gutted carcass :>.

I'd love to...but I live in an area that doesn't have a whole lot of craftspeople or hobbiests. Seriously - this place is a creative sink. :sigh: When I started the guild here, we had 5 people show up...I think they're down to 2 or 3 now (it interfered with school/etc, so I quit a few months after I started it; the rest of 'em preferred to meet on a schoolnight in the middle of the week. Oh, well)

Wow, that sucks. I figured you'd know someone through the things you do with the ren faire, or could find a woodworker by advertizing on craigslist or freecycle.
hmmm...perhaps it would make good building material? What chicken wouldn't appreciate a nice piece of wood in their coop? LOL It just seems like such a shame to not use it. My college offers woodworking classes etc for adults and seniors and there was one guy there who built a lovely inlaid table using wood from a piano, which is most likely why I thought of the whole thing. Good luck, it'll sure make a neat caterwaul when it lands!
