At least it's Friday....
Sep. 10th, 2010 08:59 amOur Feast went well - fish (cod) with rice and green beans and challah. Himself baked lava cakes - they erupted *before* I got them on the plates, but tasted great anyway.
SG's step-brother has a brain tumor..they're putting in a stent to remove fluid. I don't have any more details than that.
Sent notes in with the kids this AM claiming Religious Exemption....we'll see how THAT flies (I'm in the buckle of the "Bible Belt" y'all - it's gonna get interesting here.)
Gotta skitter!

Date: 2010-09-10 02:22 pm (UTC)We has a feast-type dinner Wednesday night. But then we realized we had seen no moon.
yesterday I went to an old friends house and we had bible study and cake - and we looked for the moon - and nope. (we did however practice our Shofar blowign skills - if the idea was to alert the neighbors - she is on a hill so I am sure we alarmed many people.
So I am figuring for us the new moon would be tonight - which is also a regular Sabbath. And ten days later - Yom Kippur would be Sunday at sundown? Going from the 19 thru the 20th?
It's not just preparing a feast with no work - it is not knowing which day you are going to be enjoying it...confusing!
And next time you see a rain cloud - let it know we are still dry out here.
