fiberaddict:sigh: Only today, it was Himself. He chose his hill.....writing. He had to write a short dialogue. The book wanted 2 paragraphs, I told him 1, at least 5 sentences. That's it.
He chose to do writing first. *3* hours later, we were still sitting at the table, saying it was too hard and he couldn't do it. I took a stand - You WILL do it, before lunch, and it WILL be done correctly. I told him I wasn't looking for the next great American Novel - banal drivel was fine, but it WOULD be done. I gave his suggestions - change a nursery rhyme to dialogue, for example. (Jack and Jill wanted to climb the hill. Halfway up, Jack fell and rolled down the hill. Jane ran down and asked "Are you OK?" Jack replied, "Yes". She helped him up and they went on their merry way. ) :sigh: He FINALLY got it done...then zipped thru Math and his 2 tests. :bangs head:
The good news is (yup, Always look on the Bright Side!) that Herself saw that I wasn't backing down, and made a mental adjustment. This is now School, and it's what we do. She made a 95 on her Science test. *95*. :huzzah:
I need to make a few adjustments to the History ch. 6 notebook - I didn't cover a few things, so he had a hard time remembering the details. Still - it's a big chapter, and he still made 100, so I'm not too upset. I just need to adjust it before Herself gets there. (He just had to talk out a few of the questions. So....he probably should have made a 90, but I was lenient.)
So. That was my morning. How was yours?? (hey - at least I got a lot of work done. Had to do *something* while I was stuck at the table with him!)
