from the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit in Ft. Worth. 1 word: WOW. Just - WOW.

I have to admit that I was a little more impressed with the Seminary's 1611 KJ Bible (1st edition!) and their 1536 (or...whatever) Tyndale New Testament than I was with the Bible exhibit with the Scrolls. (!!!!!) I mean, yeah, you see another copy in the exhibit, but this is here ALL THE TIME. (Oh, and the Erasmus Bible. We JUST studied about these guys!!!!)

The exhibit itself is WELL worth the money - if it comes to your area, GO.

We also hit the Qumrum "dig" that was outside the exhibit - the Smithsonian has donated a lot of 2,000 year old pottery shards for you to "dig" up. Fascinating! We all got a shard - they have the dig markings on them and everything (so that archeologists can ID them later.) Very cool - and quite humbling to think that I own a piece of antiquity!

Anyway, I have to get ready for Shabbat (I was smart; I put chili in the crockpot last night and turned it on this AM. Dinner is set!). Shabbat Shalom, guys! See ya on the flip side!!

Are you talking about that hand written bible with the caligraphy and vibrant colors? I loved that too. It was amazing that it was a half a millinium old...
