fiberaddictWE spent a few hours in the dark yesterday - BIG thunderboomer rolled thru; lightening hit the fence next to the power pole, and the transformer went :bzzzzzzt: Thankfully, I have hurricane lamps and a Dietz lantern; unfortunately the milking machine requires power to run. Milking 6 goats by hand....my wrist is horrid.
THEN.....we discovered our internet was out. For 24 hours. :the horror: :lol:
THEN....we discovered that the power surge took out the dishwasher. The control panel is all lit up; Maytag doesn't have a clue. SG thinks the control panel got fried, and thinks he can DIY it...I hope so. I realize that there are a bunch of people in the world without a dishwasher....but I run 2 full loads/day (what with the milking stuff and the bottles)..and handwashing is just NOT what I want to do. :sigh: SG has said he'll bring out Shabbat meal home.....it's just not fun trying to cook with no easy way to wash the stuff, y'know? (Yeah, I may be lazy, but....I enjoy modern technology!)
It was made harder by the fact that once again, I had to make cheese. Yesterday's attempt was Colby....it looks good. We'll see in a few months if it tastes good. :lol:
Anyway. Herself comes home tomorrow - can't wait! We've missed her.
Oh! Most of the DVDs came in yesterday....I'm just about set, Musical-wise. :happy dance: I did some more rearranging of the DVD storage...now we can get to ALL the DVDs, and they're all organized. For the moment. :lol: I need to sit down and scan all of them into my App - I accidentally bought a 2nd copy of "Voyage of the Dawn Treader" because I didn't remember had one already. :bangs head: We've got too many to try and remember them all....I just haven't wanted to spend the time. (I finally got all our books done...then I've bought MORE books and haven't scanned them. :bangs head:)
