C-h-h-h-h-anges!
Jun. 27th, 2013 01:00 pmYeah, this is post #...3? 4? this week. Don't get too excited - I guess I'm just chatty this week. Anyway...
I've been mulling over my website/blog thing for a while. It had been suggested that I maybe have a soap-specific blog on the website; I hesitated because that would mean creating another blog (I have 2 - I post at Dreamwidth and it mirrors to LJ. Oh, and it also mirrors on my very-out-of-date personal website. :sigh:)
But. I got to thinking today - I really do need a place to track the stuff I do with the goats, the soaping days (so that I know when 6 weeks is up; yes, I date ALL my batches, but sometimes...sometimes I don't look at the book. :sigh:). It'd also be nice to have a small spot to keep track of all my cheeses, too - and while y'all are a pretty patient bunch, it has GOT to be boring to listen to me natter on about cheese and soap. (And I haven't posted a lot of the maintenance-side of things, but.....I do need to track breeding dates and stuff.)
So....we now have a Farm Blog. Only 2 entries so far - and it won't be updated daily. (Well...not once the cheese-making frenzy passes.) So far, I'm planning on posting anything related to the farm itself. All the other blather (homeschooling, religion, etc) will be here - which you can still access from the webpage - I left the LJ tab.
No one has to read there, of course - I'm still going to *mention* the farm stuff here, because I'm used to it - but I figured, if you're only here for the soap then a farm blog would be better. I'll be posting soap and goat pictures there, as well - it's actually easier to post pictures there than it is here.....but you'll still get SOME goats and soap here, too. Just because I'm nice like that.
And, just FYI - today was soaping. (Had a doc appt - the annual check under the hood one. Ick!) Made 3 batches (planned 4, but didn't have room on the island - the press is still there. Tomorrow it's back to cheese): Dragon's Blood, Cedar and Saffron and Grandma's Flower Garden. My house smells DIVINE right now! (As do my hands....:mmmmmmm:)
