by a post Hearthie had yesterday. Seems that most women only wear 20% of their clothes. I sat down and gave it some thought - I wear about 75% of my wardrobe. This AM, I weeded. Heavily. 3 trash bags full, in fact.
I now am down to clothes that I WiLL and DO wear. 2 bags are going to be donated; 1 is out in the trash bin. Those were too worn - in fact, I kept them for "work" days, but hardly ever wore them. I also have a handful of shirts that will eventually become a t-shirt quilt - they are a bit too worn for everyday wear, but the graphics are still good, so.....I'll use them.
What was kept - a few of the shirts I made, a couple of "dressy" short-sleeved shirts, my collection of geeky graphic tees, a couple of long-sleeved shirts, a couple of sweaters, and my clan shirts. They only get worn 2x/year, but....they're kind of Clan-specific. Not really......kosher for every day wear (because they have our Clan crest and motto on them, and...well, some people are easily offended. The Scots aren't really into political correctness. (Ours has a head on a sword. No biggie - I know the history - but...some people look for things to be offended by.)
Anyway. My closet is lighter, and I'm down to clothes I'll wear 95% of the time. Next up, the underwear drawer. I have to replace those, though, so it'll be a while.
Herself is getting ready to clear out her closet, too. She has a VERY hard time getting rid of stuff...so this is BIG. Helps that I'm almost done with Jeans V.1.0, and I told her we could get her some new t-shirts in the next month or so. She tends to wear things even when she's outgrown them.......:sigh: and  We'll see how she does...then I have to tackle Himself's closet. He's...well, he's 15. THAT should tell you everything you need to know, right there. :snicker:

Making new things for the 11yo. She's decided she <3 the little dress and I can make her as many as I like, lol.
