Sometimes, I wonder about people...

fiberaddictespecially "doctors" - erm, PA's.
See, Wednesday evening, I woke up with a RAGING sore throat, and an ear ache. I blearily got up, took some zinc, and went back to bed. Thursday AM, the throat was knives, and BOTH ears were aching. We cancelled school, and I went back to bed.
Today, it was no better, so I called my doctor. She's only in on Thursdays, so I agreed to see the PA. (mistake #1). Got an appointment for 1 hour later, so I cleaned up and Herself and I headed out (because I'm not allowed to go anywhere by myself. :sigh:)
LONG story short (which was mistake #2.....I KNOW better than to rely on these doctors!)....I have fluid on both ears. Throat is raw, but Strep culture came back negative. PA told me "It's viral!'....then proceeded to prescribe ALLERGY meds. Um. Yeah. SERIOUSLY?????
In my 48 years on this planet, suffering from allergies each one, I have NEVER, EVER gotten an earache from *allergies*. Never. Not gonna say it can't happen - but it never has, to me. And I NEVER get the "knives in the throat" feeling from anything but Strep (which I have had numerous times. :big sigh:)
Needless to say, I didn't fill the prescription. I have Benadryl, Zyrtec, and Claritin here. IF it's "allergies", well, I've got that covered. If not.....well, I guess I'll have to go back next week. :sigh:
I am popping zinc like crazy. I have some homeopathic ear ache drops, and I have olive oil. We'll see if I can't knock this out using those.......and let's hope it's NOT Strep. Because.....I HATE Strep. And I don't have time for it right now.
Anyway. I have a roast in the crock pot, dinner rolls in the freezer, and the rice cooker ready to go. At least i managed to get Shabbat dinner together! :lol:

Date: 2017-03-11 02:14 am (UTC)Dice a clove or two up. Wait 20 minutes. Smush it into a slice of bread, with a tad bit of butter. Or swallow straight, perhaps with a spoonful of honey. (Oddly, honey + garlic is decent).
Repeat twice/day, preferably around a meal if you're not doing bread.
