Made it in. We left the house - as usual - at 6 AM. It took us a full HOUR to drive 30 miles....which normally takes 20 minutes. ICE and Sleet do not make for happy Texas drivers....we saw more accidents - BAD ones - this morning than I've seen in a LONG time. And the temps....it was 27* at 6. The High today is supposed to be 28*....but it's already started dropping. It was 25* when I got here at 7:45 (well, got to Starbucks - it was COLD and thier hot chocolate is wonderfully warm!). That's the TEMP - add in the windchill, and we're currently sitting at 15*. Or so. :shudder:

Himself made volcano cake last night - Yum! Not so good for my diet....but hey, I only ate a few bites. It went well with the chili and cornbread...:mmmmmmmmmmm:

That damn dog (guess. Just guess!) ate one of Himself's beanie babies. Sweet Geek put her in the crate, but she got out (I'm not going to question the fact of him putting her IN...I am curious about how he fastened the door, though) went into his room, pulled the toy OFF of the toy box (he didn't leave it laying around, in other words - it was where it was supposed to be) and commenced snacking. :sigh: I told Sweet Geek - either she gets (and PASSES) training, or she's gone. I will NOT put up with this. He agreed that she is a Stupid dog (I mean, c'mon - how many times do you have to be corrected for doing "A"? Just going from the other working dogs I've had - Border Collie, Blue Heeler X, and Red Heeler - ONCE does it. They are usually freakishly smart....not her.) - but isn't quite at the point I am. I accused him of being lenient because it hasn't been HIS stuff that's gotten destroyed - he argued the point, but when I point-blank asked him what he would do if his CAMERA BAG got chewed on.....he changed the subject. :nods: I won't deliberately put something of his in her way...but I won't do anything to PREVENT her from getting ahold of it, either - he's going to have to make up his mind that she NEEDS training before anything will happen. :sigh:

I have another cost value post in the works...I'll probably post it later today. Depends on the workload.

I know I didn't want to go and feed the horses at 5am this morning the thermometer said -15.1 and with 25 mph winds it was more like -26-30.

It's a very slow day at work, think we had two customers all morning, and were short on help, two of the four workers called in sick.

I'm ready to hibernate.

Get. Rid. Of. That. Dog.

Seriously. Before she trashes something irreplaceable and you're sorry. She's leaving, anyhow, believe me. Just load her in the truck, drive her to the shelter, drop her off, and walk away. She's costing you in food, in sanity, and now in material good wasteage.

Would you eat poison? Yet you'd swish it around in your house, it's wagging tail wreaking havoc wherever it wants? Ditch it, girl!
