Monday, Monday....
Sep. 20th, 2010 08:32 amand the countdown to Sukkot, the "Feast of the Ingathering" continues. I dunno WHAT we're going to do for a sukkah this year - ours blew over last year and is a tangled mess of metal. :sigh: We're working on it!
I still smell like Rosehip-Jasmine. :ugh: The soap looks FANTASTIC, though - all nice and rose-y swirls. All of it looks good, in fact.....I can't wait to de-mold and cut tonight!
Got my 4 new molds assembled; now I just need to cut the craft foam lining. :bounce:

Truth
Date: 2010-09-21 12:59 pm (UTC)... To tell you Nehemiah Gordon fricked it. The Karaites? Fricked it. The moon wasn't spotted on the ninth, it was spotted on the tenth, right? So the tenth/eleventh was the 'first'. So why are they telling everyone that Yom Kippur is 19/20?
Not to mention THIS:
Last night, Earth and Jupiter converged for their closest encounter until 2022. The giant planet soared overhead at midnight, shining like a super-bright star second only to the Moon in luminosity. ...Did you miss the show? Don't worry, IT'S NOT OVER. Jupiter will remain at about the same distance from Earth for weeks to come ((thru Sukkot!)). Be sure to look on the night of Sept. 22nd when Jupiter and the full Moon will be in conjunction, the two brightest objects in the night sky less than 10o apart.
Jupiter got closest last night, but doesn't move out... hangs around for a FULL MOON conjunction.
Re: Truth
Date: 2010-09-21 01:09 pm (UTC)We wnated to watch the conjunction, but it was dark, overcast, and no stars. Tonight is a school night - as is tomorrow - so no star party until Friday (should we be here...I still have hope! And thoughts, but I'm saving them until AFTER Sukkot, because I could be (and probably am) wrong. The church really has screwed me up a lot!
Re: Truth
Date: 2010-09-22 06:37 am (UTC)I saw the moon on friday the 10th
so I counted night of the 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th - maybe I am a lousy counter and ought to have my kid put in public school, but I thought the 19th was the 10th night - so we celebrated (or afflicted rather) that day - course it messes us up for Sukkot - because everyone knows the sukkot is during the full moon as in tomorrow and we don't even know where we will build at yet.
Our sky is super clear and Jupiter is just hanging out with the moon - they are close enough that I can cover both with one hand.
