It's hot hot hot...

We're on day 32 of triple-digits, here. The record is 40...and it looks like we're gonna break that record (yeah. :sigh:) 106* right now - and that's NOT counting the "heat index", which simply adds heat points - in the SHADE. It's HOT.

Kids are settling into the routine. Wish the damn dogs were - we can't leave the house unless we lock them outside - we'll come home to a wrecked house. We left for 20 minutes today - came home to an eaten ink cartridge (BRAND new - they opened the box!), a pile of cotton warp yarn (pulled out of the weaving room), and Herself's DS case (pulled OFF the bench in MY bedroom. :grrrrrr:)

The adjustor came out today......I get the feeling the pool's a loss, but we might get lucky with the damage to the tractor and lawnmower. I would like to get enough to replace the damn pool.....:fingers crossed:

Gotta go rustle up lunch....

And you wanted me to MOVE there?!?! It's lush and green and has been raining at night almost all summer and while we got up in the 90s once, it's been mostly 80s and beautiful.

I think I'll stay here. :P LoL!!

:pffffffffffffft!: This actually ISN'T normal - these are AUGUST temps, yes - but we've had them since JUNE this year. Normally, it doesn't get *hot* until, well, now - and it runs it course in a couple of weeks and we go back to low 90s.

Rain? What's THAT? Seriously - I am SO glad I didn't put in a garden this year! Our neighbor did - his corn came up beautifully, and I was jealous..then overnight it burned. It went from green and yummy-looking to brown and dead. Our grapes...we've lost 2 vines. Out of 4. :sigh:

I'll think of you this winter, when you're snowed in and we're wearing t-shirts! :lol: (Should we be here)
