she got Himself a *skateboard*. Um. We live on a gravel road, and have a gravel driveway. You can't.....never mind. It's the thought that counts, right? Right. He was a trooper, and VERY polite. This is good!

Herself and I had a nice talk on the way home. She agreed that retail probably wasn't for her, but she's not sure WHAT she wants to do to earn money. I told her, once she figured it out, I'd help her in any way I could to achieve it; I also offered her some ideas. Working behind the scenes at the zoo, maybe, or in a vet's office (cleaning cages, walking the dogs - that sort of stuff). Maybe doing computer graphics stuff - anything that has NO contact with the public (Aspie. She CAN'T do social stuff. I'm trying, but.......nothing's sticking.) She said McDonald's. I almost went off the road - that would NOT work for very long. She doesn't take criticism well.....or confrontation. THAT would never work.....

Gotta go get the house ready for Shabbat. See ya on the flip side!

I've seen some of the work that she puts up, do you think she could deal with enough "public" to be a professional illustrator?

As for computer graphics, I had a friend in SL who was a professional computer graphics artist. I take it that they often work in teams, but he worked out of his home with his team, so I'm not sure if that would improve her temper or not? Something to ponder. He, at least, was very open to more people coming up in the business.

I keep seeing more pieces about folks on the autism spectrum in the news, so perhaps the world will be more able to make a place for her when she gets there.
