Good Morning!
Mar. 22nd, 2013 10:58 amat the moment, anyway. A few random things:
Yesterday was 10 Nisan..the day in the Torah when the sacrificial lamb was brought into the house. SG brought home our lamb yesterday. (An aside...why pay extra for "Kosher" lamb? By definition, lamb IS Kosher......)
"O" is in Israel....why now? He's had 4 years to go visit; why pick Pesach for his first? And....why has the Israeli government seating a new parliment (or....whatever) the before Pesach?
Things are just...weird. It looks like Winter out here - all dark and dank and gloomy; but no rain. :sigh:
I like the Hebrew podcasts! We (meaning me and the kids) are only on Lesson 1 - we spent 2 days on Lesson 1A, and now we're hanging out on 1. I've listened to Lessons 2-4 while weaving - I'm trying to get it into my head, and having it play in the background should work. (The funniest thing - so far - is the young girl in Lesson 1. She sounds about 8 - 10....and at the beginning, she says she's "All right". Only - her tone is the same as "I'm SO depressed and bored!" :snicker: think Eeyore here - the 3 of us lose it every time we listen.)
The vendor is working on making my temple right. Looks like they're going to send me a new one....we'll see. I'm using this one at the moment, because I need it.
We're in Passover-Panic mode here. I honestly didn't realize that Pesach was *early* this year, so last month I did my full grocery shop. Only, Himself was gone a week, and Herself suddenly went "off" of pancakes. :ack: We've all been force-eating pancakes and waffles, and I've been baking bread like crazy, to get the yeast eaten up. I don't think it's gonna work, though...so the remaining yeast will have to go out to the shop. Unless I can convince myself that it's not THAT expensive to dump it.....(I have about 1 pound in the freezer....I guess it's not that much $$$)
Anyway, we're headed out for a walk. Then I get to start the dinner rolls for tonight. Shabbat Shalom!

Date: 2013-03-23 01:15 pm (UTC)Your package came last night (well, Brian brought it in when he got home). Thank you! I flipped thru the book, and it looks really useful, but I'll need to wait a couple years... we're not *quite* there, yet. I haven't gotten to checking out the podcasts, yet, but I'm glad to have them for when we work thru the Twebrew and EHebrew lessons. So nice, V... thanks.
I blogged enough posts yesterday to get me thru the end of March, so I'll be mostly off-line next week (should we be here), doing feastly things and working on getting this place nicer. I'm pretty geeked - I've felt tied to this machine again, lately, and it's going to be a good thing NOT to have to spend time sitting down and researching because I *HAVE* to have a blog.
