No rhyme or reason to this one....

The chickens sleep all crammed up on the nesting box - only 2 Wyandottes were on the perch. Think we need to build a few more nesting boxes.

Been reading the Bible - started in Lev., hit Revelation, and came back to Exodus. Noticed a few things I never noticed before: Sukkot is an *8* day Festival, both Exodus and Rev. mention "wings of the eagle". :hmmmm:

Home Depot hasn't called about the air compressor. Need to check on that - can't really (well, *easily*) finish the barn without it

Figured out the clothesline - to open it, you have to pull on 2 sides opposite each other - not the 2 *next* to each other

Need to get feed today - horse/chicken/dog. Sweet Geek is handling the horse/chicken part

Am unsettled for some reason. Not sure why

Mowed the back yard last night. Need to assemble a sukkot tonight/before Friday evening (easy-peasy. 8 cinder blocks, 4 4x4s, some rope, and the leftover lattice from the pool deck.)

Need to get more chlorine tablets for the septic. Currently using pool tablets (lot cheaper at once, but don't last as long)

Mom's having "tummy troubles".....which makes me all kinds of nervous, but what do you do? She's supposed to call her doc today......:sigh:

We are on a Jane Austen kick at the house - we (including the kids - EVEN Himself, I am so shocked!) watched "Sense and Sensibility" Saturday evening. It was good - the kids even liked it (Yeah for culture!), and now Sweet Geek is on the hunt for more BBC productions. (We also have "Persuasion".....2 lonely little DVDs. Need more!)

The studio is at the point I can actually *warp* my loom! Need to plan a project.....dishtowels are my go-to, but I'd like to do something else....not sure what, though. Must think on this.....

I found SO many UFOs it's not funny. Fire socks? Silk tank top? Chenille scarf? Sweater for Himself started :gulp: 4 years ago? It's embarrassing.....:sigh:

Need to get the contract work done - IF the doc wants Mom in NOW, I gotta make sure the work is done. Note to self: Download the XL files and QB files, so if I'm off next period I can still get it done (Cyn doesn't do this stuff - it's not hard, just time-consuming, and I set it all up, so I have my routine down. Someone else coming in....it would take 2x as long, because they're not familiar with the systems we use. Not much I can do for that, though...) I can do 'em and email 'em back.......

Went to the ER last night for my wrist. It went about as I had predicted. Cut to spare my friend's list )

Self:

You are no longer 18 - heck, you're no longer 28! - so PLEASE stop acting like you are. Just because the feed barrels are almost empty does not mean you need to refill them - remember, *2* bags of grain are your limit. NOT 2 barrels.....and, 5 bags is definately OVER the limit (2 is enough. You can do 2 one day, 2 the next, and so on and so forth. The horses won't starve!)

And, when you ignore the above fact, twist your wrist (stupid!) and then can't sleep because of it, it is NOT appropriate to decide to scrub the bathtub. This will only make the situation worse (and, don't decide to leave the bathtub and scour the kitchen counters.......)

Just take the stupid allergy meds and let them conk you out (since you're allergic to all the popular pain meds - remember?) and get on with stuff.

This public service announcement was brought to you by the letter "S" and the number "2"

It was knitter's night out again. We had a blast - I made dinner (hey - I like to cook, I hadn't cooked in 2 whole weeks since the kids were gone...what can I say?), we had a smashing wine with it, then gabbed and she knit while I spun. (Pics of the singles will be along shortly - [livejournal.com profile] redemelde, you'll wanna see what your handywork is becoming!) Mucho fun!

Got to bed at the unholy hour of 10 PM (normal for me is 8:30, but remember I get up and the even more unholy hour of 3:45. It's a holdover from the 18 months of stalking....*sigh*), only to have the phone ring in my ear. Nothing drastic - just a nice phone call from my.....buddy. *eg* Whom I now need to plan a meal for......*vbg*

Oh - and note to self: white wine makes a good substitute for pain meds. No grogginess the next morning. Doesn't get rid of the pain, but it does make my give-a-shit go away.

Kids will be home in a couple of hours!!!

Try, in the future, to not injure 2 extremities at the same time. You are allergic to *all* prescription pain meds; neurological drugs don't do the trick, and muscle relaxants seem to work for only 3 days before giving up in disgust.

*sigh* The wrist I could ignore, but the foot I can't. When I get the foot to subside to managable levels, the wrist starts in. I need a stiff drink (or 2 or....), but won't. Prescription #3 fizzled on day 3 (as did Prescription #2.....hmmmm.)

I'm only awake thanks to copious amounts of caffeine. Today should be a fun day......
